Councilwoman Gerrie Schipske also attended and let us know about the Good Neighbors Event on Sept 24th. She also communicated how we can find additional resources on tree trimming and sidewalk repairs.

The November 4, 2010, meeting was very successful. residents from all four quadrants were in attendance.

The City of Long Beach Traffic Enginee, David Roseman, communicated the upcoming adjustments to the signals at both Wardlow and Claremore and Spring and Claremore.
There were also extensive discssions on the residents' desires to get drivers in our community to reduce their speed. Options such as speed bumps were discussed and referred to a commiittee that will be lead by Stu Cahn. Request to the City for these type of measures need to be accompanied by 2/3 support of the street of the request.
Commander Lopez communicated LBPD resource distribution and response times for the East division. She also stated that while East Division has the lowest number of cases of violent crimes we lead the city in crimes against property. It is important that we take valuables out of our cars, everytime we leave the car unattended. We also need to be sure to keep doors and windows locked on both our cars and homes.
She also took time to tell us about a new resource LBPD is using to communicate with residents. Signing up for nixel.com will allow you to enroll in communications via text or email reguarding important timelly information.
